“Dino-Therapy” Brings Smiles to Families at Aurora’s Ronald McDonald House

AURORA, Colorado — Parents and children alike had a roaring good time when special animatronic dinosaurs roamed the halls of the Ronald McDonald House in Aurora yesterday!

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver provides temporary, no-cost housing for families who have traveled to Denver seeking medical treatment for their seriously ill children.

Aiming to bring smiles to these families, the dinosaurs were able to provide a type of “Dino-Therapy” by getting up-close and personal, interacting, and taking pictures with patients in a comfortable environment.

And these creatures are anything but an average Halloween costume– they are MASSIVE. Some stand over 28 feet tall and span more than 60 feet long!

These animatronic life-like and life-size dinosaurs were able to bring this happiness by taking a break from preparing for their Dino & Dragon Stroll event, which takes place at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center next week.

As an added bonus– every stop on their North American tour, Dino & Dragon Stroll teams up with a local food bank/pantry as part of their “Stomp Out Hunger” initiative to help those struggling within each local community. Through this, guests are encouraged to bring items to the event to donate. There will be collection bins located at the front entrance of the stroll.  In partnership with “Food Bank of the Rockies”, all collected food items will then be donated to help children and families in the Denver area facing hunger and food insecurities.

Pretty dino-mite story, am I right? (I promise I’m done with the puns now.)
