Colorado Avalanche Gets SEAL of Approval

DENVER, Colorado — Tonight the Colorado Avalanche go head to head with Tampa Bay Lightning in game two of the Stanley Cup Finals, and they have support from all over the metro.

Primarily… an unlikely supporter seal from the Denver Zoo!

This is a win-win for the animal kingdom though. The Denver Zoo says it agreed to a conservation-themed wager with Zoo Tampa.

If the Avs win, Zoo Tampa will feature the Denver Zoo’s conservation efforts with Boreal Toads, a Colorado-listed endangered species, in a post on their social channels.

If the Bolts win, you’ll noticed Zoo Tampa’s conservation efforts with the Florida manatees in a post on local channels.

According to the Denver Zoo, “Boreal toads are the only species in the Denver Zoo collection that we breed and release into the wild. The team successfully developed breeding protocols in 2019, and in 2020 the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources successfully adopted those protocols, and that is a potential game changer for the species.”

So I think I speak for the entire animal kingdom when I say… go Avs!
